Bristol Law Centre has had another brick through the window. Law Centres are so important, doing unsung work for some of the most vulnerable people, helping to hold the line in the face of the collapse of legal aid.

If you want to show them some love:

Up bright and early to head to the picket line 👊
It’s The Observer’s 233rd birthday tomorrow. The world’s oldest Sunday newspaper, whose future has been put at existential risk by our billionaire owner. I couldn’t be prouder to be defending it on the picket line with Guardian & Observer colleagues tomorrow. @gonuj.org

Something but as you say will be totally wiped out . Will be interesting to see any further conclusions from the review….
So, MoJ is proposing an increase in rates and fees of 10% for Immigration and Housing Legal Aid work only. That reverses the 10% cut imposed in 2013 and puts us back to where we were in 1996. Of course, it will be wiped out by increases to salaries and employers NICs.

I am so pleased that the Law Centre community manages Hanwell library but it’s sad such an important service is left to volunteers and the many many hours they put in .
