When I'm not working on my PhD, in the summer, I can found working in a field keeping people safe and making sure they have a great time.

Highlight of last week was the Take Drugs Seriously event in Sheff organised by @transformdrugs.bsky.social .
If we had #safesupply maybe Martha (pictured) could have spent her weekend recharging her batteries like I have ahead of another full on week of fieldwork.

Just finished my second week of fieldwork and it's been BRILLIANT.
I've enjoyed working with incredible women who use drugs to co-design and start the research. Lots of great conversations fueled by brews, craft sessions, walking, the odd rant, poems, chicken nuggets and hugs.

Just finished my second week of fieldwork and it's been BRILLIANT.
I've enjoyed working with incredible women who use drugs to co-design and start the research. Lots of great conversations fueled by brews, craft sessions, walking, the odd rant, poems, chicken nuggets and hugs.

As part of #EHRC2024 we visited an area of Warsaw called Praga which is experiencing the impact of gentrification. This children's Art project Stacja Praga is threatened with closure, the city this week turned off electricity and water, so it can sell the land to be developed.

Today I visited the Why do we take drugs exhibit at the UEA which was brilliant, really creative and engaging.
The Ayahuasca exhibit was exceptional and the photo journalism of Heroin Falls was gritty, real and moving.
Great to see members of the public engaging with this topic.
