Ah but they get round a lot of this by making it the only way these children and young people can access puberty blockers (not sure the same will hold for cohort study participation)

Our students bring a wide range of knowledge and experience to our classroom - in some subject areas these will be more directly related to learning than in others - but we can respect that students might challenge us appropriately and respectfully and should embrace that.

Of course there has to be some nuance.

Its not reasonable to have a class where all you are doing is debating, and there are certainly students that will challenge repeatedly, inappropriately or with bad motives.

I'm not suggesting we accept sexism or racism in our classes.

If your content is sound, it'll be easy to justify and will create a learning opportunity for the student.

If you isn't, you've learnt something and youve shown humility and respect for them.

There is, btw, absolutely no evidence of large scale fraud wrt PIP. It's already so unnecessarily difficult to get that I know multiple people with actual trauma in relation to the assessment process.

Interruption of studies or being signed off sick is not actually a solution to inaccessibility.

Time off also won't cure chronic illness, nor necessarily result in improved symptoms once back at work.
