Things Neurotypicals do not have to do: I keep a water bottle on the kitchen counter. Because sometimes I think I’m hungry, but I’m actually thirsty. And I won’t remember that unless I see the water bottle before I see the food.

I told my manager that working with a ton of people in one aisle could be an anxiety trigger. Today, she said “go help in that aisle. Oh. Unless it’s overwhelming, then you can go onto this other task instead.”
I have never had a manager remember and consider my anxiety like that. It was so nice.

I saw a dead cat on the side of the road on my way home that looks a lot like my porch cat. I know she has at least one look alike, and it wasn’t that close to my home. So it’s probably not her. But I also haven’t seen her and I’m worried.

After 30 years of experimentation, I found myself genuinely wondering if I had adjusted my tastes enough to handle a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and how I would approach making it so that it was more likely for me to be ok with it.
