Our neighbors in Los Angeles need federal assistance to recover and rebuild – and it’s unacceptable that Republicans want to break precedent and condition this type of aid. Natural disasters happen in red and blue states and the federal government should be there no matter what.

It’s fun trying to find that line between “I need to remain vigilant of the horrors afoot” and also “oh no my heart is racing and my jaw is making weird creaky sounds and I can taste pennies.”
