I guess I misread the question because I do not think MKT is bad, though I do think it's ignored.

Now, Deadly Arts... that one truly is janky, but my brother and I enjoyed it a lot on a rental.

Did someone say "J. Lo: Combat Evolved"?
November 14, 2025 at 6:02 PM
I'm saying that as a PSA, but also a reminder to myself. I always want to have the last word, and fall for ragebait. No more! I already waste enough time on social media as it is, so I'm reminding myself not to spiral into a black hole of stupidity, which might not even be human.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is better than UMK3 (because it's the same engine but almost everybody in the series so far is in it), but so many people talk about UMK3 more than MKT.

Maybe people really wanted to move on to 3D, so they thought MKT on the N64 wasn't special, but I really enjoyed it a lot.

If I boycotted every movie where I don't agree with every past statement from every single person on the cast/crew, I'd watch zero movies.

Tom Cruise is a nutjob but I still watched Mission: Impossible.

People hating on Larson are denying themselves entertainment over a years-old "nothing burger".

It COULD also be that she said what they wanted to say.

Or that saying that it isn't for them made them feel like their choice to already not see it wasn't wholly their own.

Or that they feel like the entertainment should cater to them specifically.

Dumb however you look at it.

White men: I'm not going to see A Wrinkle In Time; it's not for me.
Brie Larson: A Wrinkle In Time ISN'T for you.
Dumb white men: HOW DARE YOU

So, in summary:
1. she AGREED with them
2. they didn't like being told they didn't have to watch it, even though they weren't going to watch it

So dumb.

Imagine not wanting to enjoy a piece of entertainment because of ONE person's OLD comment from years ago that only vaguely sounded MAYBE bad and was overly twisted into a bigger deal than it was. Thousands of other people also worked on this; do they screen everything that everyone said in the past?
November 13, 2025 at 8:14 PM
And that's the thing, it's a one-off experiment (yes, there's the 3DS remake, but narratively, it's just once).

People should be okay about appreciating it for what it is.

But it's the Internet, so people seem to like to really heap hate on something they just don't get.

From some comments I've seen before and on Facebook right now, I think some people think there are ONLY three days for the whole game.
Even those that know about the resets, don't know about the song that slows time, or are really bad at managing time to get everything done before getting to a mask.

It CAN be a bit of a challenge sometimes, but that makes it fun and rewarding!

(Even so, It's like any Zelda game, that is to say, not super duper difficult anyway.)

I also think that people who shun Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom JUST because of breakable weapons are missing out.
November 13, 2025 at 6:17 PM
People who "get it" love it.
People who "don't get it" don't love it.

We all play games for fun, but is it so hard to learn how to deal with a new mechanic (like the breakable weapons in BotW/TotK, etc.)?
It's not even much "effort", IMO.

Still a game. Just... play it.

Are new things that scary?

I like back-to-back sequels, like the second and third parts of Back To The Future, and the second and third parts of The Matrix (the fourth doesn't count). And... hmmm. What else?

I'm not keen on waiting so long for Fast X and Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse to resolve their cliffhangers.

Shortly after this...

That is to say, I primarily still subscribe to keep on top of Marvel and Star Wars stuff.
While my brother and I did finish Andor only just the other day, which is good, other series and shows feel a bit like homework.
If I generally get less and less enjoyment out of it, at some point, why?
November 13, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Six years already?

I really enjoyed the first year: The World According To Jeff Goldblum, first season of The Mandalorian, WandaVision...

My mom, a technophobe, learned how to play The Sound Of Music & Honey, I Shrunk The Kids/Blew Up The Kid repeatedly.

Now it's just Marvel/Star Wars obligation.

What I am getting at is: why are they gone?
Does YouTube delete videos over time?
Or did those who love the NES enough to rap about it feel a collective need to delete what they think is cringey? (They weren't, IMO.)
I'd like to do an NES rap; so it's weird to see them disappear.
