I then spent ages trying to get the spoke nipple of of the rim with a lot of spinning, wiggling and a using a paperclip to nudge it through the tube valve hole.

Who whipped the hake indeed! It is a shame that no further description is provided so I shall have to do some research about these St Ives, Towednack and Zennor zingers.
