And I highly recommend learning the terminal too, simply because that's what most guides you'll find are gonna be using. Why? Because "system" apps vary A LOT between desktop environments, so the only thing a guide can know for sure you have is the terminal.

I had to learn Windows in school, and I had to learn Linux a few years ago. You don't need to know everything, you just gotta be willing to learn

Yes, Linux is a lot more user-friendly than it used to be, but that doesn't mean it'll be the same as Windows. You'll need to learn how to debug, how to navigate the Linux directory structure, etc. It's totally different.
