A programme was in place from 2000 until 2023 called SPACES the Single Persons Accommodation for the Ex Services, funded by the MoD. It helped over 22000 homeless veterans find suitable housing and was costing the MoD less than £200k per year. Mercer closed it down to spend more on Op Fortitude!

Those most seriously harmed while serving in the UK military (who could be serving personnel or veterans) can submit a claim for compensation
If they disagree with the MOD's decision, they can submit an appeal (for AFCS there is a mandatory interim reconsideration step, before doing so)
