In 2024, bots made up 51% of internet traffic, overtaking humans.

Does that mean The Dead Internet Theory needs a rebrand, or are there other theory types it could fall under?
‘Dead Internet Theory’ - What is it and how is AI making it happen?
Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman have warned on social media in recent weeks of the “Dead Internet Theory".

💰 In 2022, governments poured US$7 trillion into fossil fuel subsidies — enough to cover adaptation and clean energy, with spare change.

Pauline Hanson has claimed Labor does not have a mandate for net zero because only "35 per cent" voted 1 for them. This is nonsense. Once you include Greens, teals and others who are more pro climate action than Labor the combined primary is over 50%.

It is time for the Australian Government to admit we can’t insure our way out of the climate crisis.

It is impossible to get insurance against likely events, and climate disasters are becoming more and more likely.

Developers may hate Victoria, but it’s shaming other states on housing
Victoria has taken power for housing approval away from councils and concentrated it with the planning minister. It’s not popular, but it’s working – and other states are taking note.

AI is an invention that makes a lot of money for the company pocket, and also requires the public purse to monitor it and put in safeguards.

Perhaps we are already working with a "badly specified objective"?

This quote is a little more uplifting:

Australians: your regular reminder that privatised water companies in the UK have filled rivers & beaches with actual shit, busted the infastructure, sent profits overseas, given million-dollar bonuses to their bosses, now in £20 billion debt & demanding immunity from rules & fines forever.
So apart from wanting to be exempt from environmental laws and to have any current or future fines wavered @thameswater
now also want the right “to raise prices at any time before 2030”.
