I tried this as a schoolgirl. Several problems: you have to remember to set it and wind it and it has no snooze function. A digital alarm clock doesn't rely on executive function so much.

Bring the cuddly toy in your bag so it's there at least.

My solution to this problem is a second alarm, that can't be so easily turned off. I put mine on the window sill where I can't reach it without sitting up
