Delighted to share this interview with Allyson Gunsallus, creator of the series Hand Holds: Climbing after Parenthood.

Climber, director, board member, mum and so much more, Allyson shares some brilliant (and very timely for this author) insights.

One of the beauties of having this blog is more and more connections with brilliant climbers who have gone through pregnancy and came back stronger - Izzy Perks being an amazing example, and her guest post is just excellent 👇

A brilliant interview with Eve Cuthbertson, head setter at Parthian Southampton, mum and strong-as-hell climber. We chatted pandemic pregnancy, career trajectory and climbing even harder than before giving birth.

Some thoughts about climbing during pregnancy, and specifically in the first trimester. Weirdly, the mental side of things affected my climbing so much more than the physical (lucky, I guess?).

Read it here (and please share your experiences if you wish!): sgrvrnk.substack.com/p/climbing-d...
Climbing during the first trimester: what I wish I'd known
Climbing throughout pregnancy can change and shift as you progress. A lot.

Please enjoy my awkwardness on camera / here's how to work a full body harness for climbing during pregnancy, plus the best carabiner to use (which no one mentioned to me - I hope it saves some people an extra delivery charge!)

PS. Not sponsored by Petzl, obviously

One of us!

I've started blogging about climbing and pregnancy, because I'm genuinely frustrated by the lack of collaboration/sharing of information.

I'm simply sharing my research, and want to encourage everyone to share theirs and experiences too.

What can I say other than thank you. And you have impeccable taste. (And I think I’m with you on the Louisiana cracklins. My poor kitchen).

Late to the party (as always), but I enjoyed Nights Out At Home by Jay Rayner so much that I wrote a review.

Plus: aesthetically pleasing markers in an aesthetically pleasing book.

Cats are constant
The fabulous five! NHE's most wanted! AKA, presenting the bestsellers of 2024, bought through our website.

And this is the beauty of publishing: our readers want bedtime puzzles by Lewis Carroll as much as they want to read the story of rule 13 and also cats. They absolutely love cats.

If you really want to encounter a lot of views different from your own, go read some books. You don’t need right wing assholes screaming at you on social media for that. This can just be a place where you chill.
