and btw im talking like younger kids, like theres no reason a six year old should be online. theres no reason a 10 year old should be online. that should have never been normalized.

teenagers who know how to handle themselves can stay on the internet. thats never been the problem

i understand theres some nuance to this in terms of like trans kids and such who live in queer-hostile spaces (see: me, again), but just the vast majority of problems with the modern internet cannot be solved with "Just make a space for kids duhh" cause we tried that and it failed

"so you want kids to hang out in adult spaces and get into trouble?" i want kids being on the internet to have never been normalized in the first place but here we are.

see: me, who was on the internet since the age of 7, and made all my friends online. and i still believe this very thoroughly

for me personally its easier for me to visualize the alpha kids in pairings rather than working cohesively all together. roxy & jane, dirk & roxy, dirk & jake, jake & jane

the beta kids obviously have a lot of obvious "pairings" too, but i can also very much visualize them all together as well
