Some of it is that we don't have the disposable income, but some is that most tech stuff improves so little generation to generation. 30 years ago, your computer was obsolete in a year. I'm currently using a 5 year old laptop that I bought at the time for 300 bucks and it does what I need

At this point, a lot of SUVs are just tall station wagons. Most aren’t built on truck platforms anymore. Although I think minivans still have an edge with the sliding doors

To be fair, basically everything but the Owen films is for the era where it wasn’t that easy to rewatch, so nobody cares about continuity. You saw the last one two years ago. My favorite is that you see lots of minor actors in different roles movie to movie.

This is actually a point of contention among fans. The whole franchise is delightfully sloppy and there is very little continuity anyway. Just make another movie and maybe bring back the lotus submarine
