I needed to see the sea this evening. Luckily, we weren’t far from Cullercoats Bay.

if your teenager loses their shit and “recoils in disgust” because somebody who looks different to them interacts with them in public

that’s a hell of an indictment against your parenting

The 12th annual international Gender Census 2025 is now open until at least 30th August 2025!

survey.gendercensus.com

It's for anyone whose gender (or lack thereof) isn't described by the M/F binary. It's short and easy, and results are useful in academia, business and self-advocacy.

Cat sitting for my parents this weekend. This is Luke. He’s very photogenic, and a proper orange boi. 12/10 would snuggle indefinitely.

I cannot agree harder with this. I’ve seen/heard plenty of performances and read the book over and over, and this is my absolute favourite version. He’s clearly having a whale of a time doing all the characters, and gives a truly memorable and brilliant performance.
By the way, if you happen to have Audible (I know) then may I INSIST that you find and listen to Hugh Grant's peerless reading of A Christmas Carol. Far and away and by several parsecs the best imaginable performance. There should be awards.

This is the oldest sea picture on my phone. It’s from a holiday to Skye in 2016, I can’t remember exactly where, except that we’d just been to visit Skye Weavers.

Over the years I’ve taken a lot of pictures of mountains and flowers and skies and seas on my phone, and I almost never look at them. So I’m going to post the best ones here, and give them a fresh lease of life. I’ll start at the beginning…

The view from my new office is mostly disused car park and other buildings, but it turns out to be pretty good for watching the sun rise in winter. I can’t help but feel this is going to be good for me.

This cat is very convinced that I can’t possibly do my i-cord bind off without her assistance. I’m not entirely convinced.

Torn now between eating these in strict preference order, or eating the one there’s most of until there’s the same amount of all of them. (Obviously I won’t be eating the Bountys, I’m not a monster).

I now have 4 whole days between day jobs. In this time I intend to rest, update the online shop, do some painting, and play some 40k

Watching the new Attenborough, and my takeaway after 4 episodes is that Asian Elephants seem rather keen to broker mutually beneficial trade agreements as a way to live alongside people. I am very taken with this as a concept.

Lovely day on the coast in North Wales teaching the dog about beaches and the sea for the first time. His verdict: BRILLIANT (cue overexcited Labrador face)
