When your nephew requests a Freddie Mercury jacket for his Halloween costume, what else is a crafty aunt supposed to do but get to work?

Never thought there’d actually be a time these shirts fit all 3 kids at the same time!

Watching this does make me feel like less of a fraud for my Orcas hat though!

Damn I love outdoor pizza season.

200g of dough, crushed tomatoes with some salt, garlic and oregano. Then dollops of burrata filling, basil and olive oil added after the bake. I will live on this all summer.

Quiet Sunday morning; tea and milk in my handmade set.

It took several tries to successfully make the creamer. I ran out of time before I could make a perfectly fitting sugar bowl lid, but that gives me a reason to come back to pottery again in the future.

My dad just sent me this photo of his class celebrating Easter in Tours, France, 1939. (Dad is the 1st bunny on the left in the front row). My thought process:
- Aw, cute!
- Bet he hated wearing that.
- Wonder if the kids dressed as chickens were jealous of the bunnies.
- Wait, are those AXES?

It took over a year, but I made a quilt for a wall hanging in my basement room! I really love the way this one turned out.

It feels tacky to discuss the cost of the building. But maybe that’s a thing you can talk about with your “date.”

Sailing is *by far* the most popular recreational activity? I guess it makes sense it’s not a sporty bunch.

Nothing on ethics, I see.

I have a feeling the 1952 version of the class on the biological effects of nuclear radiation was not done with delicacy.

Technology of Food Products is essentially “canning for men” right?

Contemporary ideas on political and economic development. “Current philosophies of hope and despair, and perspectives beyond 1950.” This one could be useful today.

Not one but two classes on Books and Men.

Today in things I can’t believe my dad has held onto, but also it’s long enough ago that it’s sort of interesting again: the course catalog from his freshman year at MIT 72 years ago.

Is it even a Stylemaker retreat if I’m not making something out of strawberry fabric? 🍓

Off to the sewing retreat I go!!

Really delighted, proud, and excited to see the first woman sworn in as King County Executive. Bravo Exec Braddock!

Otto says he’s sorry, he can’t be bothered by a storm right now. He’s found a duvet left on the ground.

Last day in the studio for my 3rd era of pottery. I know there’ll be a 4th era one day, but I’m feeling a little sad (and of course now I have tons of ideas for things I want to try).

I’m PM’ing a project to refresh our floor at work, and I’ve been having too much fun doing daily updates to staff on what new furniture has arrived.

Before/after of carving these little porcelain luminaries. Time elapsed: one viewing of Pride and Prejudice (1995 version, aka the only version).
Casualty: Sadly, the little creamer on the left didn’t make it, but I’m excited to try again, with a matching sugar bowl.
Next stop: bisque firing.

Back in the pottery studio, carving it up.
