Well, you can start with simple things- deleting your Facebook account, not using Google or Gmail, and instead opting for DuckDuckGo or protonmail.

Nodes that do not update will continue to connect to each other until an event (reboot, etc) causes them to try bootstrapping again.
At that point they will cease connecting to any other nodes.
The future is upon us! Update those nodes!

The truth sucks. Signal is great, but it can't scale for long without serious funding. That's the problem with most projects- the necessity to incentive
