Khemjira rewatch, ep 3 let's go!
Janis does such a lovely job reflecting the style of expression and mannerism Namping established for Khem. The way she holds her shoulders, the way her eyes move... she doesn't carry any of the heaviness modern Khem does but she feels so recognizable

The other day folks were talking about western m/m fandom name problems, the ed steve tommy of it all, and I was gearing up to be VERY smug "well maybe you should move out of anglophone fandoms"

When a character finds themself in a lie that's getting out of hand my instinct is always "is there any way you can just make the lie true and then never have to face up to it"

Sometimes you abandon a fic mid-scene, certain that it's gone off-course and you're going to have to rewrite half of what you have so far, and then you come back to it a month later and go "oh actually this fucks"
