Ironically, Disney has handed a billion dollars for OpenAI to help feed Sora AI, which also just happens to be the name of the protagonist of Kingdom Hearts. Including letting it use hundreds of Disney owned characters. I guess if you think you can't beat em, join them?

So, Cloudflare knocking out huge chunks of an Internet that was designed to have redundancies built in to prevent a single failure point.

Like AWS knocking out huge chunks of an Internet that was designed to have redundancies...do we see the problem here? Profit over functionality.

At this point, the Democrats caving feels like "Well, we got enough out of the shutdown in local elections, so we let the Republicans have everything they wanted on a national level."

It also feels like we're a single-party system that's been bought on both ends of the spectrum. The show goes on.

The East Wing was built to protect the President from fascists in WWII while he helped destroy the Axis.

And an American fascist tore it down to make a dance floor for their successors.

Regarding Tron: How is it we get decently good animated series stuff, but Disney manages to miss on the movies almost as if the more they try, the further they get from good?

Skip Tron: Ares. If you haven't, go watch Tron: Uprising- set between the first two films. Tons of star power and story.

One of my side interests is early videogame history-and one of the big actors in that regard is the Video Game History Foundation. Yesterday, they published a trove from William Volk, the 1988-94 VP of tech for Activision.

EA is following a road that's ruined corporation after corporation- massive buyout that piles massive debt on the company, crippling it's productivity and ultimately leading to the dismantling of the company as it's sold for parts, though the prior owners walk away flush.

I will cry few tears.

I have been told I post too much serious stuff. Therefore, for balance you shall have a cheaply produced meme. (Actual artist name in corner of image.)

This gonna be good. Super cheesy in the way so many 1980s sword-and-sorcery flicks are, but good.

Minnesota today was a horrific example of why "thoughts and prayers" are meaningless in gun violence, with children literally being shot and killed mid-Mass...in prayer. No deity is protecting your kids. Only you can, and "getting rid of the guns" is about as realistic as the prayers are.

When the Speaker of the House is acting to hide the activities of "important" child molesters by preventing votes on the Epstein List, it's time for a new Speaker of the House. How fortunate it's much easier these days to replace one.

Just caught the Superman movie.

Gunn has, once again taken a bunch of characters I had no connection to prior to a movie and made me love/hate them. Christopher Reeve finally has a fitting heir for the Man From Krypton. The Snyderverse is dead, and made great fertilizer for this.

So someone yelling "Free Palestine" gunned down two Israeli embassy workers in front of a DC museum today.
Which doesn't surprise me. People angry about the endless killing in Gaza want to hit back, and eventually that anger is going to strike the vulnerable by association.

Officially, Pope Francis had a stroke, went into a coma, then a heart attack and died.

Unofficially, I think we can chalk this up to the death touch of JD Vance. I mean, look at poor Francis' face.

So, the #4Chan hack.

The essence of 4Chan has already become a part of general Internet society and past that, society at large. /pol/ in an age of social media may have peaked with 2016's election, and most of the rest were old communities that drifted into comfy retirement. If it dies, it dies.

It's worth noting to people outside of the area that Hackman's wife dying of a hantavirus infection is definitely not unheard of- all it takes is local rodents here in the Southwest doing their thing and the resulting fecal matter drying out, getting in the dust, and being inhaled. (1/2)
