Dear self, this is not about you... You don't have to be sad... No one is calling you an insufferable weirdo... It's not about you...

I have no memory of ordering this.

Also I did open it while a sex scene was playing on the audiobook I'm listening to played.

I am so sad this didn't sell well enough in English for Denpa to license the sequel series, Canis: The Speaker, following three gentlemen we meet in the previous two. I still live in hope but I think this is one I am going to have to learn Japanese for.

Please inject ZAKK's art forever into my eyeballs.

The Canis series is to DIE for. Gorgeous with a quiet story in the first few volumes as Ryou and Satoru try to figure out their place together, Satoru struggling with his art, Ryou struggling with what his future should be after his criminal past.

I am so excited for when book 3 comes out. I hope it is next year, but I will wait for however long it takes.

In the meantime, I still have the Captive Prince series to read (I know! I should have read these already!) and I can also reread Dark Rose and Dark Heir a million times more.

Dark Rise by C.S Pacat grabbed me by the throat and wouldn't let me go. Will and James are my EVERYTHING! And every other character is so fantastic, I could spend so long waxing on about how perfect this book and its sequel are.

I have reread this so many times already. It was made for me.

This is only part one of the story, with the story of what they do after obtaining the throne being told in King's Maker: Triple Crown, but I haven't read it yet.

That's a theme of this thread, even my most favorite things I haven't finished reading yet. I know I will love what comes next though.

King's Maker by Haga and Kang Jiyoung is getting an English print release next year, and I couldn't be happier!

This series follows two boys forced to grow up under that watchful eye of a tyrant king. The art and color esp are GORGEOUS. The romance & the political intrigue are all top notch.

I immediately bought all of Kellen Graves's books after finishing this the first time. I'm doing a reread of Prince of Sorrows before I continue the series.

AND I FOUND OUT THIS MOMENT, A FOURTH VOLUME IS GOING TO BE COMING OUT, YESSS!!!

Kellen Graves is a new to me author this year, and I fell in love with Prince of the Sorrows. It's got royalty, extreme power dynamics, hedonism, COLLARS, enemies to lovers... It's a sexy fae fantasy that kicks off a trilogy I have yet to finish but am looking forward to.

A couple of my favorite things about this series are the dynamic between Taichi and Kohei and Kohei's struggle with his emotions. He starts out distancing himself from everyone, but eventually finds himself struggling to hold back his desire, jealousy, anger. He feels he loves T more than T loves K.

I Hear the Sunspot by Yuki Fumino is a gradual love story between two uni classmates, one hard of hearing. It's quiet and gorgeous in its execution, and I love watching Taichi and Kohei grow throughout the series just as Fumino's art grows too.

Loved Re:BIRTH by Mitsuaki Asou!! Such an angsty read, loved how the omegaverse dynamics were integral to the plot. Highly recommend! 🌈📚💙📚

Finished Maiga Doocy's Sorcery and Small Magics, and I CANNOT WAIT for the next one!! Absolutely loved it, truly a slow burn, Leo and Grimm were delightful, and I LOVE the magic system! The audiobook version was phenomenal, highly recommend this book! 💙📚🌈📚

Reread Chika Hongo's Setagaya Synchronicity in print, and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! So, so good. I love how it depicts the messiness of sexuality and human relationships, and how we struggle to not hurt or be hurt by those we love. 💕💕💕

I want to rec this to everyone. 🌈📚💙📚

Meanwhile, I am half way through Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy, and I'm LOVING it! Doing the audiobook version of this, and Ciaran Saward is a fantastic narrator.

A mini book review

Finished reading Bryn Suddarth's Song of the Dark. I liked the plot, but I didn't much care for the writing. However, I can see a teen really loving it, which is the audience for it anyway. It is only half the story though, and the sequel is not yet out.
