I totally understand. I sometimes see Elpidophoros trying very hard to be a leader on this and following in Iakovos’ example, but I’m not sure how much of the community wants to see that overall. Sadly I’ve heard many GO priests preach pro-MAGA stuff, it is hard for me to believe when I hear it.

Last time I went to a gender-separated liturgy was in the early 80s in my dad’s hometown in Greece, definitely not done there anymore. The menstruation thing I grew up hearing from my grandmothers, as in don’t take communion on your period & wait a few days after.

Yeah I do not believe I’ve seen a national press outlet cover it correctly or understand the basics of how Orthodox Christianity operates both officially and culturally, especially in the US, and why the differences are really important

Been seeing this for years and I feel the same as you. In my experience many try out Goarch, find it’s not conservative enough for them and then go to OCA. Convert wives often are the only ones wearing head coverings… where did they get that idea from? I don’t think even my yiayiades did that.
