Congestion pricing is an unqualified triumph. One of the most immediately, strikingly successful public policies of my lifetime.
“The MTA as a whole is averaging 448K more public transit riders per day this year…The MTA ridership growth since congestion pricing went into effect is almost 50% larger than the total ridership of America’s next-largest subway system.” bettercities.substack.com/p/congestion...

Opinion | Musk Said No One Has Died Since Aid Was Cut. That Isn’t True.
A journey through the front lines of global poverty shows that when the world’s richest men slash aid for the world’s poorest children, the result is sickness, starvation and death.

As we become more aware we Canadians aren't "just cold Americans" (to quote Red Green?), it's useful to look around to find who our other, perhaps closer peers might be -- and the sides of us we may want to try to re-emphasize or recover. So much of that is reeeeally simple (...on the surface).

This would be a disaster.

Vancouver is in a housing crisis, largely driven by cities misusing their powers to erect exclusionary walls around themselves. The last thing we need is MORE exclusion.

The only possible effect from this is more homelessness. It is cruel and reactionary.
