I do think a lot of this nostalgia comes from that generation of consoles feeling like the last one where the industry took chances, and things felt like they weren't the same year in year out.

the brand is in its worst spot ever, but with how people are talking about a console that's 20 years old, it somehow feels like people would still give it a chance today if it caught a few good breaks here and there.
