Is this country obsessed with work because old masters used to make sure workers earned every penny?
Everyone should get a UBI then if they want extra they can work as much as they feel like. Our society is so obsessed with work we keep inventing bullshit jobs, that no one wants or is needed.

If most AI projects lose money, someone has to pay for them.
Hence: cost cutting.
So, actually, you can blame AI. But not for the usual reason claimed. AI is not replacing humans, it is replacing profits. And without profits, you can’t employ humans.

All firms have decided they must make bigger profits every year. Some just made their product smaller (Toblerone) but never reduce big man pay. My cereal bars now in boxes of ten instead of five and tablets in one box - same number but on one strip instead of two

The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.
