Waging a war against America
ruthlessly whitewashing our past & present
scoffing at our freedoms
disregarding our rights as human beings
callously silencing free speech & dissent
using fear and lies to justify your #fascist policies
a gangster presidency
It will never be normal

Law and order flouted.
Justice delayed and denied.
A nation of laws is broken and out of order.
Freedom goes to the highest bidder.
Our democracy turned into a sad joke but nobody feels like laughing except twisted oligarchs and liars
they know joke is on us
The punchline is brutal.

Monsters
claim to represent us
but they only represent themselves.
We the People look on horror
in face of endless outrages and
fascist decrees.
Now is the time to howl…
Stay silent and
there won’t be another chance.

Will we only miss Liberty and freedom
when it's gone?
The cost of gas and eggs hardly
matters
while fighting for survival in a concentration camp
camp
or foreign gulag
Silence is the saddest sound
when we can no longer hear freedom's ring
or acknowledge justice for all
Were they only words?

Silence is the saddest sound
as fascists -- epousing a fake democracy and safety concern -- round up and deport those they deem
undesirable
threaten media and lawyers
claim corruption
while raiding government funds
seek division and fear
Silence is the saddest sound...

There is a short reel where you can actually watch them set Orange up, and then Putin Responds. Putin looks very joyful. They took the bait and outted themselves as Traitors to the Country and the World.

So fearful of unpredictable situations
You live in a coffin of staid organization
Buried your passions so deep
You can’t get them back
You don’t really care
that you have nothing real to share

There’s nothing of you
in how you live your life

There’s nothing of you
No real fire in your eyes

Turned freedom of speech
into your inside joke
Defused my words before
I spoke

Snickering behind your smiles
All the while with your guile
pushing another policy of greed
Turned the economy into your inside joke
No one is laughing
We’re all down and out and broke

They break your heart with
the promise of real freedom.
Becomes a useful joke
they can use to score a political point
as we are left twisting in a brutal wind.

Tolerance
and kindness has become some kind of sin.
Haunted to my core.

America is not the place I am in anymore.

Don't stop talking about light, passion, #art, #books, #music, #films, etc.

Trump wants us lost in despair and rage like him and his followers...

Reject his cruel cynicism...and remember he's soulless and we don't have to be...

The evil we dread
is every day,
commonplace,
thriving
right in front of us.

No bogeymen
but brutal liars and thieves
who count on our fear and silence.

They use our complacency
to steal away our democracy,
and later we’re left wondering how we could
have been so blind.

all your bravado and pollyanna proclamations are falling flat
your defiance is all only an act
the fascists look on and laugh
sweeping aside anyone who gets in their way
talking tough to hide your fear
each day your past complacency haunts
as you realize it could all fade

The Age of Trump?
The age of American dreams burning.
The age of children in border cages dying.
The age of a deadly virus ignored, spread through ignorance.
The age of Twitter policies with no meaning but greed.

The Age of Trump?
The age of no reason.
The age of blatant treason.
The age of tax cuts for those who don't need them.
The age of crazy lies with no end.

So long, civility.
This is not TV reality
but our real lives.
No switching off the
fear and horror
so well exploited for your gain.

So long, civility.
Uncertain,
shattered,
turning a dark page
in history.
Lost in a new contentious age.

Remember how we got here
with our cynical, bitter asides
Remember how we clung stubbornly
to our great divide
Remember our denials that
we weren't broken inside
Remember the small-minded lies
once again, shared on high
Remember the dream,
shining,
even if it seems from a distant time

Remember the dream
Remember the hope
Remember when kindness
wasn’t considered a joke
Remember beyond these days of cruelty
when everything didn’t seem to ring hollow
lost in cage match of lies
stranded in a broken daze
holding on to fading dreams of tomorrow

If the US leaves NATO, who would be the US's allies?

Nobody. They would have nobody to bully in the press and nobody to backstab if there was a military problem.
Americans are the most untrustworthy nation, second to none, right now.
Nobody wants to be friends or trading partners with America.

Should infuriate all of us.
MN Doctor: I learned that Renee Good still had a pulse 8 minutes after she was shot by an ICE agent. Yet the offer to administer aid from a physician on the scene was denied. I can't say how much that stirs the blood of everyone here as we try to fulfill our oath to care for the people of Minnesota

Everything we used to take for granted—
basic civility,
kindness,
calm,
thoughtful dreams,
—are fading fast.

Trapped in our endless cage match of
rage and broken trust.

We’re beyond lost.
