Spam filters are NOT turned off. They still work as intended because spam mail is not only annoying but dangerous. You never see it with a decent email service.
People are seeing socials and other stuff that were on tabs on their inbox and playing scaredy cat because "spam is back". That's not spam.

Also half of said country's GDP is 3 dudes passing around the same $100 bill and calling it an 'investing in a revolutionary new technology' (the new technology just gives people psychosis and makes them unable to form independent thoughts).

Pretty sure that's a 'sustainable' as in "we can get enough-ish money for our investor by producing fossil fuel fueled slop". An acceptable but 'funny' choice of term indeed.
