Ugh. Almost every time I try to work on video game stuff this year, my brain feels... twitchy. I don't know if it's overstimulation, anxiety, burnout, a combination, or my brain has just decided it hates me. Maybe posting some of what I've been able to get done will help.

I wanted to use public domain comics as a basis for the tone and style of this month's MAGS game and found Drift Marlo. But how can I possibly match this?

This is pretty much all I'll be able to show from this game since any deviation from Zork from this point on is a secret.

Since my game is just for MAGS, I decided a few days ago just to use modified backgrounds from Maniac Mansion/Maniac Mansion Mania. One or two more characters will be added if an extension is given.

I was hoping things would be different this time, but nope. Walkcycles still are mentally draining for me. 5 frames left for the maid side walkcycle.

Progress is slow, but I am still working on the MAGS game. I decided on using a modified verb system because I plan to add a library ladder. Tentatively I'm calling the game Mystery Mansion Mayhem.

Current characters for my December MAGS game. Aged up the butler. Need to make another female detective, but not sure about who to base her on yet.

Here's what I currently have for my MAGS game. I tweaked the maid a little and created the butler. Their current names are Nicole and Jerry. I have no clue what the actual game is going to be. Was going to be mostly like Clue. Now it may be more Manic Mansion. Who knows...

After working off and on this morning, I've created the first character for my MAGS game. Currently unnamed Maid. Very much based on Sam and Max Hit The Road/Day of the Tentacle. But hopefully with enough of my own changes.
