The rumors and conspiracies about autism floating around cut a lot deeper now. My mom and I had a run-in with an anti-vaxxer when I was 13. I’ll never forget her saying that “if autism continues to spread, society will collapse.”

It was unbelievably difficult to navigate getting an assessment as an adult, which is the case with a LOT of people like me. I’m glad to have all the answers, but others aren’t that lucky and I try to keep that in mind.
