I miss writing
life has gotten in the way and broke down all inspiration I had regarding my book

writing a novel by hand, to me, is 10 times better than doing it on a computer, because when you're transcribing it you can edit at the same time instead of having to scroll endlessly to do so

Creative work always comes out better when you’re not thinking about how it has to look for an audience, but rather how much fun you have when you make it.

I wrote 500 words today, not a lot, but it's still progress, even if it's small

I've been watching youtube videos from different writers giving advice, learning about fast drafting, outlining, etc all these concepts that I didn't even know about. my writing process has always just been sitting down and putting on the page whatever came to mind, letting it flow naturally

doing research for a book in progress is a lot more time-consuming than people think

last night I was transcribing and editing what I wrote (because I do it by hand) into google docs, I'm not even halfway done with what I have written in the journal, but I've got 2k words in the document, which makes me feel like yes, this was progress

I absolutely despise and disagree with the implementation of AI in writing apps, it's horrible how it's literally spreading everywhere like a disease

Books don’t have an expiration date. I’m as guilty of this as anyone, but your work is still important no matter how many years ago you made it. Don’t forget how much work you put into it. Promote it and love it.

today is writing day, but I need to re-read what I wrote because I absolutely cannot remember

I made a cute tiktok of the universe of my book and it really helps thinking about it that way, that you as a writer are sharing the story of someone from another universe

my long-life dream and goal has always been to become a writer, to be able to publish my book(s) and have people read and enjoy them...every time I think about it my heart just fills with warmth

These past few days, I've been watching a lot of videos created by writers where they talk about their process, tips, etc and the thing that surprised me the most is that the vast majority write their stories/books using technology. As in, they type. I have always done it by hand in a journal.

I decided bluesky *might* be the right place for me to post about my writing process, how many words I got down for the day, etc. I started working on the novel in May and have 2 chapters done, but in June, I had some issues with my scoliosis and lost all inspiration and motivation. Now I'm back!

New to bluesky! I'm a writer currently working on a gay novel set in 1920s argentina.
I've been inspired by books like Dracula, Frankenstein, and diaries of different writers to write my book as if it were the diary of the main character, in attempt to make the reader feel closer to him.

quick art tip for those who need it: stop putting so much value into your sketchbooks. meaning, don’t feel like every page has to have a “perfect” work or whatever. you’d be surprised how common this attitude is and it’s how people fall off from drawing regularly. it’s a sketchbook get fuckin’ messy
