Part of the reason we are bringing up how the virus affects cognitive function is that that trauma of mass death and disability is a present trauma, that is still happening right now! Not just some past-tense horror. Can’t process what’s in denial

There’s more than one type of “living in fear”.

You can rationally be worried about a virus and take precautions… not really living in fear… more similar to putting up an umbrella in the rain.

Or irrationally avoid the whole topic and take no precautions & get soaked in the rain.

Or the cognitive damage of repeat infections…

One big hint that this is the wrong move is that the White House supports it. Be a fighter, not a folder!

Do not be a coward, and do not cave now! Encourage your colleagues to stand firm to defend the absolute minimum of guaranteed extension of the ACA subsidies. A "promise of a vote in December" is not acceptable. You cannot trust the promise of untrustworthy people. Stand firm!

It makes no sense to fight for one single thing for 5-6 weeks and then suddenly just stop fighting for that thing.

Would be great if you also required the power of the purse to be rightfully restored to Congress, and no more recissions, otherwise no budget deal matters. Uphold the constitution first, policy choices second.

Also, no more recissions! Otherwise budget agreements hold no water. They’ll just rescind what they want to anyway. We need a restoration of checks and balances, no more unitary executive nonsense.

Have you apologized for voting to confirm any of the nominees? You have a responsibility here. They had an explicit plan to destroy our institutions, and they are doing it. You helped! The best time to stop them was earlier, so tell us what specifically you are doing NOW.
