welp here goes my first resolution for 2025, listen to more spotify, my wrapped this year was a little boring, like i pretty much knew what it was gonna be (tho 4 out of 5 top songs being ken ashcorp was nice)

so today i compiled latex and it spat out invalid utf8 in the terminal
turns out they dont actually use utf8, but raw unicode where 0xFC is a valid character for the letter ü instead of 0xC3BC like a functioning text encoding. cool. im going to bed now.

I've read at least 10 different sources say Listing published about the Möbius band in 1861 (4 years before Möbius) and not a single one cite WHAT did he publish or where (no sources at all). Nor can I find that with google.

The more time passes the more I feel like... yes, math is my favorite academic topic and surely I would love to do research on it, but I feel so lost and incapable of ever having any knowledge to make any contribution at all, that if I want to start a masters I need more than a miracle

my anki has been using the chinese font this whole time
whats weird is everywhere else (browser, computer, apps, etc) is using japanese font for kanji, so the only solution i can think of is wrapping the text in cards with <p lang="jp>

it's so chill, I struggle to understand most sentences but I can certainly follow what the topic is, and he seems like a fun dude
can recommend for upper-beginners (i listen to it while grinding in stardew)
