Ontario’s university funding review is nearly complete, yet faculty and students, the people at the heart of our institutions, were excluded from consultations.

University faculty & staff are the backbone of our postsecondary system. Great to meet with @ocufa.bsky.social reps from @uwofa1.bsky.social, King’s & Huron. With record enrolment, Ontario needs more investment, not more red tape, to keep our campuses strong. #onpse #onpoli

As universities and colleges cut academic programs, close programs, and slash 13,000+ jobs, Budget 2025 halves international student enrolment without boosting core funding.

This Advocacy Day, OCUFA continues to share critical issues facing our sector. Despite the government’s 2019 decision to cap and freeze domestic tuition, Ontario domestic undergraduates still pay rates of tuition well above the Canadian average with higher levels of debt.

📣 Faculty, librarians, staff, and students stood together for fairness, accountability, and the future of the campus community. The Rally for Arts and Humanities was just the beginning — we’re "all in". 💜

Today we honour survivors of residential schools, their families, and the communities forever impacted. Reconciliation lives in what we teach, collect, and research. We must choose to challenge colonial narratives, and make space for Indigenous voices and ways of knowing.

In Canada, proposed cuts of 15% across the federal government would have a dramatic effect on already globally decimated research & science.

Join Canada's research and science community and tell PM Mark Carney to preserve the funding promised in 2024.

📢 We stood with @opseusefpo.bsky.social college front line workers on strike today.

Chronic underfunding and short-sighted policies leave workers carrying the burden. Fair funding and a post-secondary system that values the people who make it work are long overdue. ✊#onpoli #onpse #onlab

At the LDLC Labour Day Picnic, we stood with workers across sectors to celebrate solidarity 💪. We spoke with the community about the urgent need to fund public higher education. Universities should be places where students succeed & faculty/staff are fairly supported. Public funding is needed🎓.
