Congratulations to UW professors Daniel Ludois and Guri Sohi, who have been named fellows of the National Academy of Inventors!

The academy recognized Ludois for his development of new types of electrostatic motors and power converters and Sohi for his work on computer microprocessors.

NAI fellowships are considered the highest professional distinction awarded solely to inventors, according to the organization.

Grateful to the UW Board of Regents for supporting our vision to create our first new college in many decades: the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence. I look forward to working with many on & off campus to help make this college a reality.

I am heartbroken by Dean Linda Scott’s sudden passing. Her integrity, leadership, commitment to excellence & wonderful dry humor shaped the School of Nursing & the national nursing community & touched so many lives.
