The coyote is resilience.

Art is a ritual. For me, drawing can be the act of invoking a feeling or a message, even imparting magic.

In this handmade watercolor I wanted to capture the beauty of a peach-orange Rose blossom and the scent of flowers, fresh fruits and summer feelings. Enjoy!

Close ups of some of my latest works in progress - pencils have to be worked in different ways on each of them to get the different textures, but all take a lot of layering up. #art #drawing #animals

To tone the base of a painting, I usually transfer a sketch (sometimes with rough shading) first. I'll spray that with fixative, and wipe paint on with a microfiber cloth. When that dries I might add more depth with the same base color, or go right into colors.

if you want artists to make weirder art, you have to create stable living conditions that allow them to. homogeneity isn't a matter of artists lacking culture-- there are many soulful artists out there-- it's a matter of unregulated corporate dominance combined with artists who cant afford to create

Coldwater Canyon, 1/5/25

Blue gum eucalyptuses, native to Australia, introduced to SoCal in the 1860s. They spread fire with volatile oils, peeling bark that dries out, heavy shedding of flammable litter, and wood that burns hot and long.

Restoring native plants is key to reducing wildfire risk.

A few years ago I had the privilege to meet a pack of young wolves up in a zoo in the far north of Norway. It was an amazing experience, They were very much, and yet not at all, like dog puppies.
The experience still gives inspiration to my art
