Think this form still works? Kinda want some of these.

Just rubbing our noses in it.

All of which is to say, revolutionary MLs are probably more right than wrong about what it would take to actually get this shit done. I'm a lot less amenable to crying about "rights" than I used to be, because...REALLY...look around you...what fucking rights?!
November 10, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Yeah, probably not. Got any plans to fight Trump? I'm only voting for candidates with concrete plans to disrupt the functioning of this regime and make specific people pay for what they've done. Not really interested in sucking troop-dick, politically speaking, this time round. 🤷‍♂️

Why is everything like this. Not just the AI garbage: why is everything so stupid, so baroquely privatized and outsourced, so bureaucratic, so opaque and irrational and process-heavy. With no alternative horizon, capitalist culture has been rotting in the sun for 40 years now, and it fucking sucks.

I can only bear my own witness, which is this: the man who spoke these words has triumphed over death and hell. He is the image of the invisible God, victorious and deathless, tireless in his love for each and every one of us, no matter how much of an asshole we may be.

This morning, our bishop was with us to confirm new members of the church. He lead us in our baptismal vows, which include the most ancient doctrines of the church, and these questions, to which we responded - with faith and hope, and without hesitation- "I WILL, WITH GOD'S HELP."

To be clear: not because this is ENOUGH, or makes us good or holy people in some way. Far from it. It is the very least we can do, and an honor and blessing to be given the opportunity.

In any city and most towns in the US, you will find Christians fighting for justice and celebrating the beautiful diversity of the human family. Here's a tiny example: my priest (on the right) assisting at the altar of the Church of Reconciliation for our diocese's Pride Eucharist.

Christians protesting ICE brutality at Broadview

Here's a Christian pastor getting shot in the face by ICE. In the second photo, he's back, imploring these ICE agents to repent and turn from evil. Seconds later, they shot him in the head with a gas canister.

This stunt was denounced by the the clergy of St. John's and the bishop of the dioceses. Nor was that the last time that this bishop would challenge Trump directly.
November 10, 2025 at 6:36 AM
Yes I have. I am a Christian. So are the people who were in the courtyard of St. John's, providing water and first aid to BLM protestors before Trump's stormtroopers forced them off the grounds of their own church so that Trump could rush in for this ludicrous photo op.
November 10, 2025 at 6:36 AM
An underrated photo of Trump from the summer of 2020, when he visited a Catholic basilica in New York to...uh...fight Jesus Christ, is what I'd guess from the look on his face?

Omg I found it. June 2020. Extremely Normal Church Face lmao

Ah, well then. Sounds like everyone's on board for the big win-win.

Apparently some churches have harpsichords? lol
November 9, 2025 at 7:14 PM
My only point is that both of these institutions could reasonably be called "typical" American churches. But beyond theological differences, the cultural and economic dynamics shaping these bodies are very different. Do not imagine that churches are somehow immune to good ol' material conditions!
