Suna Valo is maybe the perfect spouse-game (if you have a spouse that can handle a bunch of rules, but aren’t very fond of aggressive interaction).
Happy merge of mechanisms and feel from 7 Wonders Duel, Deus and Isle of Skye.
2 player only and very, very cozy!

Storyfold: Wildwoods is many things: an intriguing way to tell a story, an excellent card-management and dice-chucking game, a tremendous storage and game-saving solution, a middling narrative. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/10/24/s...
The New Dog-Ears
Storyfold: Wildwoods isn’t the game I was expecting. It isn’t the story I was expecting. If we want to be a little more crass, it isn’t the product I was expecting, either.

Today we gave away ~$10K to the customers of our customer (or more precisely, we found out that during the past weeks, we have done so). Somehow it feels much worse than more expensive mistakes because there is a number attached.
Don’t put a number on it.

Played Moon Colony: Bloodbath today. Very pleasant experience with low chance of slowly revealed depth. It’s light and fun, and most of all reminds me of bingo (but with the added joy of killer robots).
Right now I adore it, but I’m not sure it can handle repeated play or too high player count.

Played Signal by Jasper Beatrix at work today. Was fun to see a bunch of developers debug their way through the game.
Aliens and legacy systems are more or less the same.

Played Revive today after a long break, and I am left with one large question: Why don’t we play this every week?

Also: Concrete human-hives are just as “natural” as plants everywhere! Formica IS the people!

Played Anno 1800 (the board game) again yesterday.
It is still not great, but I really want it to be.
There is something very satisfying about the checking off the needs of one person after another until your hand is empty.
Any game out there that does this better? Or maybe someone could make it?

Bureaucracy: We have a paid cleaner to clean the house. My wife will now go clean elsewhere to satisfy employment-requirements for applying for citizenship. Requirements she has fulfilled a while ago, but no matter, only employment immediately before evaluation matters.

Last Saturday and this, we played Kanban again. Like most Lacerdas, I keep thinking: “is this actually a bit clunky?” But when digging deeper I realize Kanban is great exactly because of how hard it is to navigate optimally.
It would be less good if polished too much.

When the Copenhagen pigeons dream of the savannah.

Pretty certain I was supposed to think of something else, when looking at the climate-Jenga sculpture. But the pigeon stole the picture.

"Schmiss" is a free-form ttrpg scenario, I originally wrote for Danish convention Fastaval.

A psychological horror scenario about WW1, repressed desires, honor and bloody duels, with premade characters and playable in 4-5 hours.

Today, the why-is-nothing-breaking-anxiety is turning into nothing-is-breaking-pride.
My role in the team has been to worry about quality (sometimes against quite strong adversaries on the business side).
And it bloody well worked.
I worry. And it helps.

Today we launched a major it project, and the strangest thing happened. Nothing broke.
I’m a bit stressed from rushing to get everything done and somehow it makes me more anxious that nothing needs fixing than the expected adjustments.
Tomorrow I hope one of those feelings goes away.

I used to teach programming, and for reasons outside my control I had to teach C# as first language.
Would have been so much easier today!
We’re about to take C# to the next level!

youtu.be/OWVPYr9e76Y This is probably the best video by @anderspucknielsen.dk yet.
Even when he mostly restates old points he have made before, he is able to bring clarity to the motivations of Putin.
You should watch and follow.

If you haven’t already seen it, you should go watch the new Asterix and Obelix animated mini series (on Netflix (how
appropriate)).
Don’t binge. It’s better as five episodes of half an hour. And remember to watch the subtitles after episode 5.
The Danish dub is amazing too.
