Absolutely hate that feeling. Some other-worldly FOMO is adding insult to injury.

I've been using "the bells and whistles," Scrivener, for more than ten years. The key is to not expect it to be Word. Just use the parts you can customize to the way you work, rather than feeling forced. It does keep me far more organized and creative.
