Running GURPS on Foundry VTT.
Encouraged, I decided to publish a better edition of the game in 1983. I got it typeset and copied on parchment paper and replaced the artwork with slightly less amateur art. It backfired because the art had a less childish tone and parents wouldn't buy it for their kids. Harsh marketing lesson.

In 1982, I published my first boardgame, called "Quest 'o the Faire", based on the map of Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, TX. I only ever sold it at the faire, though. It was a crude production made on a typewriter with amateur art & photocopied, but it sold well enough.

We also started playing a lot of wargames from 1978 onward, especially Squad Leader (followed by several expansions) and Car Wars (1980). For tactical fantasy battles, we played TFT Melee & Wizards, but never used it for campaigns. In 1981-83 almost all of our side games became Champions & Car Wars.

I first started running my own D&D campaign in 1976. In 1977, I found Traveller and started running it on the side. In 1978, I upgraded to playing AD&D, subscribed to Dragon Magazine, and started playing Gamma World on the side. Dragon Magazine also inspired us to start creating our own games.
