In my free time, I quite often enjoy making public transport diagrams. Here is one for Edinburgh if the trams were expanded and the South Suburban Line was reopened...

Cinderhill must be one of the quaintest tram stops in Nottingham...

The South Wales "Metro" is local rail as it should be. Frequent, accessible and user friendly. There's even the option to pay contactless like on the tube... It's difficult to see how just 5 years ago, this network ran using Pacer trains, but the investment has clearly paid off!

After much consideration, I have joined the Greens! I was skeptical at first, especially with the promise of Your Party but the subsequent chaos before founding and the results Zack Polanski and his team have been delivering have shown me that Green is the way forward! 💚

While Coventry (a city with twice the population) continues to umm and ahh over their VLR project, Le Havre in France has had a two line system with full sized trams for over a decade now. There's even a 3rd new line under construction! Do better UK...

The Regio 2N is a nice train as it is, but in this intercity configuration, it's probably one of my favourite EMUs to travel on!

Haulage to London was 222001, delayed by none other than the Flying Scotsman!

I was unaware that 170113 was also refurbished, but I'm glad she has been... I love these new refurbs! 🥰

Today I'll be travelling flight free to Rouen, France from my hometown of Nottingham. But first, a short tram ride...

Only natural when it's the smartest looking train on the network! 😁

When Birmingham enhanced service on their Cross City line, ridership increased significantly thanks to improved service frequency and journey times. There's no reason the same couldn't be achieved in Coventry, bringing many economic benefits, while cutting traffic congestion...

Additionally, improvements to local bus services & active travel options would be essential in helping attract people out of their cars and onto the train.

What I propose is an upgrade of infrastructure the infrastructure. Firstly, the line between Leamington & Coventry would be double tracked to accommodate more trains. Then it would make sense to electrify the line in it's entirety. You could then have 2+ local tph on the whole line!

Despite this, a number of proposals have been made to improve service, not limited to running old D78 Stock Underground trains on the line! Sadly, many haven't come to fruition and more needs to be done...

At present, the corridor north and south of Coventry is quite urbanised and is connected by two existing railways, the "Elephant & Bear Line" between Nuneaton & Coventry as well as the mostly single tracked line between Leamington & Coventry.

Forget the Coventry VLR, this is what Coventry needs! Presenting Coventry CrossCity... Uprgrading the existing line would be an easy win for the city, Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands Region. (a🧵of something I came up with).
