A comic from the series "A Couple of Guys" by Dave Brousseau entitled "The Sound of Muzak" with six panels. The first panel shows the two main characters, Eric Parker and Joey Romelli, in a department store. A sales assistant approaches and says: "May I help y..." But Eric interrupts him: "Shh... Listen! Listen!" In the next four panels, Eric sings enthusiastically: 🎶"Salesclerks in sportswear, this ditty I've written. 'bout bright colored speedos and sitcoms from Britain, qual-i-ty porn I can download for free... These are all things that ex-hil-a-rate me." 🎶"Mint flavored condoms and rainbow confetti, gym rats with backpacks and Joey's spaghetti, my name in bright lights up on a mar-quee... These are all things that ex-hil-a-rate me." 🎶"Boys in blue denim with black leather jackets, kinky new uses for old tennis rackets. Books recommended by Oprah Win-frey... These are all things that ex-hil-a-rate me." 🎶"When my job sucks, when my hair's bad, when the ca-ble's ouuuut, I think of the things that exhilarate me, and then I don't haaave to pouuuut..." During his singing, several people look at Eric in bewilderment and irritation, including a nun. In the last panel, Eric is seen in an ecstatic pose, while Joey looks embarrassed. A colleague has appeared next to the sales assistant and looks confused. The sales assistant says resignedly to his colleague: "Our pricey merchandise sets off the drama queens, but our canned music sets off the show tune queens." (The words "show tune queens" can be read in bold letters.)
