Here's the kpop specific episode with kind.social/@toblaveisto... .

We talk a lot about girl groups from the 2010-2020s, about originality, spectacle, fandom, politics, and joy as a compass.

This is a beautiful episode about the two families' shifting, off-kilter process of changing together. One leaving Mormonism and really seeing each other, and the other reckoning with the heartbreaking reality of fascist terrorism against immigrants.
What’s great about living in a family is that everyone sees everything differently. Also, that’s what’s awful about living in a family. This week, we go behind closed doors with two families. link.podtrac.com/310widp1

We need more honest language:

Theft Tech (AI)

Grift Tech (crypto)

Death Tech (automated weapons and military surveillance)
"theft tech" is a term my pal @astra.bsky.social thought of just today when we were working on our book about these End Times Fascists.

We were thinking about what should happen when this this bubble busts, as we all know it will.

Remember: they have bunkers. We don't. 2/3

Lots of great things about it, but Mamdani’s victory is also an encouraging win over the evil AI hate slop that Cuomo was tossing at the virtual wall at the end there. Deepfakes are dangerous but they are also a sign of despotic desperation.

“I want to...ask for something and hear the word “no,” and feel emotionally safe in that exchange, but it’s not how I grew up. I grew up to believe that you only ask for help when you really need it, and at that point, it’s not OK for someone to say no.”

I've always loved hearing people's stories. "Untangling Ourselves" is my new podcast with stories about how people change themselves, and change their culture.
Episode 1 is out now! I talk to @deliatetelman.bsky.social about deprogramming from a Christian cult, non-coercive education, and a neurodiversity perspective on mentalization.
CW: emotional and physical abuse, high control religion, and neurodivergent trauma.

"What if we fundamentally all belong to Earth, if we start from the idea that belonging is a birthright? We have a land that wants us and wants to feed us and hold us, and gravity is going to make sure we don’t float off into space, and that’s so loving." --adrienne marie brown
Happy Pride! All ecology is queer! At least, so say Amy Ray and adrienne maree brown. Eavesdrop on this conversation from our Spring 2025 issue on queer nature.

Actually, I think the far-right is accurately identifying an existential issue.

So many of the most vehement far-right were either heavily bullied or did the bullying.

Teaching empathy to the next generation is fundamentally at odds with conservative political philosophy.

That's why they hate it.
