Just broke 100k pages read on Storygraph. This is technically from my entire life, but there are many, many books I cannot recall that I did read, so they aren't added to this number as they should be. I wish I could fully recall every book I ever read!!

In case y'all thought this Nicki Minaj politics b.s. was new or 'she changed'.

Nicki Minaj defending pedophiles (her brother) and violent sex offenders (her husband) and showing up for conservatives is such a common pipeline that I can't even be surprised nor appalled.

Currently reading How To Work With Complicated People by Ryan Leak - a #storygraph friend rated it highly and I recently got a promotion, which has me dealing with some 'complicated' situations. Pleasantly surprised with how easy to read and how helpful it is for more than just work!

This is what I've read so far in December... that's a lot of 8s!

Officially finished all my extra reading challenges for 2025! Unsteady by Peyton Corinne was the last book I needed for the A-Z challenge, and boy, was that a great book to finish off with!

What challenges did you take on for 2025? Did you finish them yet?

Happy Pub Day to D.M. Aderibigbe!

Selected by acclaimed poet/novelist Colin Channer for the National Poetry Series, 82nd Division is a lustrous love song to the author’s native Nigeria.

November #ReadingWrapUp! My Name Is Barbra cooked my average time to finish- it took me 3 months! (Longer since I kept having to return it to Libby lol.) Otherwise, nothing too notable this month!

One of my favorite Douglas Adams quotes:

“All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others.”

More timely today than ever, don't you think? 💙

Looking like I won't be finishing my A-Z #readingchallenge (again). Just need U & Z, but both books I chose are held up at the library and it's been a couple weeks already! One was a lot newer than I realized, so they might not have even gotten it in yet. Oh well, there's always 2026!

Officially read more #memoirs this year than any other genre so far! Just finished My Name Is Barbra by #BarbraStreisand and woah, what a life!!
What’s your most read genre so far this year?

It's a disservice for Kiss Of The Basilisk by Lindsay Straub to lack genre label #erotica. Yes, it's #romance. Yes, it's #fantasy. Sure, even dark romance/fantasy. But everywhere but Goodreads has left off the erotica label. C'mon, the author talks about stroking cock in the first chapter! #booksky

I am officially 3k behind on my pages goal for this year... There's no way I can catch up in the next two months, but I can still pat myself on the back for listening to 185 hours of #audiobooks this year (so far)! It's my first time really listening to books on audio!

#October reading wrap up on #Storygraph! Started to hit a slump, but Natural Beauty came at just the right time to remind me how much I love #horror. Too bad I couldn't read more of that genre during spooky season, but who's gonna stop me from enjoying horror in November? No one!

Wait a second… I picked up The Queen by Nick Cutter today after blowing through Natural Beauty (what a masterpiece btw) and whose name do I see quoted in the cover?? Ling Ling Huang, author of Natural Beauty! What are the odds!

Just started Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang and I’m already halfway through! It reminds me of The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz and A Better World by Sarah Langdon- fever dream #horror with #sapphic under (or over in 2/3 of these) tones. Really enjoying it!

Currently reading Guardians Of Dawn: Yuli by @sjaejones.com! It’s the third in the series. As always, these covers are gorgeous! I would love to own them just for that fact alone!

September was a slower month for me- couple books took me quite a few days to finish and messed up my average time to finish. But at least I read everyday, keeping my streak going strong!

It took a month, but finally finished Emma! Shout out to @kathlenebrown.bsky.social for telling me Clueless is a retelling of Emma- gave me the push to power through! #JaneAusten is very talented, and I will definitely try another of her novels, but for now I think I need some short & sweet reading.

Do you have any advice for someone who may be interested in getting into book blogging? What sites would you recommend, if any? Any pitfalls to avoid for beginners?

Wrote this in The Sirens Call about mass shootings as the darkest, most violent form of extreme trolling and think it likely applies here as well.

A decade ago, the Heritage Foundation went full meltdown about how Obama was an imperial president when he had issued about the same number of executive orders -- though he had reached it after six years, not six months.
