Spitballing here, but the half-baked "ballroom" project could be the thing he plans to destroy in a false-flag operation to justify the Insurrection Act. We know *something* is coming.

If Bari Weiss actually wants to do the things in her CBS staff e-mail, properly characterizing the president's lies would be a good start.

One of the challenges of the Trump era is that every warning sounds like hyperbole. Kamala Harris faced that repeatedly, and her warnings sound prescient now.
Schiff: "You begin to wonder -- do they believe they have the authority by putting some groups on a list, even domestic groups, to use lethal force against them, with no trial, no due process, no nothing? The reality is we can't rule that out."

When the Epstein files are eventually released, everyone must demand that the release also include information sufficient to prove they are genuine and complete. We all know what can be done with a Sharpie.

The "choice" was what Dr. Moore's patients made when they went to him to be vaccinated. By deceiving them, he deprived them of that choice. And now any doctor presumably can choose to mislead you, as long as the deception fits a MAGA worldview.

The 65 million number that Republican's are bantering about is no coincidence. Per the Census Bureau, the U.S. Latino/Hispanic population was 65.2 million as of 2023. (Also note Loomer's mocking of BLM, for those interested.) www.census.gov/newsroom/fac...

Former New Yorker here. Trump doesn’t have much support within the city because everyone remembers him as a floundering and immoral businessman and the racist responsible for the Central Park Five. You know, before he became a reality TV host.
Trump on Mamdani: "I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun watching him, because he has to come right to this building to get his money. Don't worry -- he's not gonna run away with anything. Frankly, I've heard he's a total nut job. I think the people of New York are crazy."

Make those who vote for this pay a big, beautiful political price. Don’t forget who they are.

There’s understandably much discussion today about which of Mamdani’s positions resonated, but it’s worth remembering that Cuomo had unique weaknesses and that Mamdani ran a very solid campaign apart from his views.

For all of Trump's bluster about dealmaking, Obama's deal with Iran was one of the most tirelessly and thoughtfully negotiated treaties in my lifetime -- a shining beacon of successful statecraft.

And then Trump threw it all away for a cheap political win.
Hell of a chart, this, from @financialtimes.com. Spot the JCPOA.

A particularly weird aspect of American politics is the fairly persistent push to name military bases after those who fought and killed U.S. soldiers.
Trump brings back Confederate era names to military bases, starting with Fort Bragg.

This reverses Biden era changes to remove white supremacy symbols.

Supporters call it tradition; critics call it Confederate glorification. Legal challenges may follow.

It saddens me that so many people assumed - wrongly - that Harris was a lightweight who ended up as VP for reasons other than merit. She was (and is) a consequential figure and her presidency would have been a great one, *especially* for many of the people who ultimately supported Trump.
This country really screwed the pooch. Deeply. 🫤

At this juncture I’d like to point out:
* we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing
* there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world
* a united approach could stop the climate crisis
But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.
