Along with @unitetheunion.bsky.social
l've kept pushing for the government to do more for our Grangemouth community.

I'm happy that £14.5m for a green industrial transition has been secured alongside the £100m Growth Deal & £200m from the National Wealth Fund.

All of this must lead to jobs.

Women workers must be paid fairly for the jobs they do. @unitetheunion.bsky.social will continue to campaign on this important issue and will not stop until this injustice is eradicated. 2/2

👫🟰EQUAL PAY DAY

In this day and age it is utterly wrong that women are still paid less than their male colleagues.

If the government is serious about boosting productivity and driving economic growth, it must address and implement @unitetheunion.bsky.social's demands. 1/2 ⤵️

#EnergyBills have shot up by 42% since 2021, leaving households struggling to get by. Meanwhile foreign countries and the world’s richest individuals are feasting on huge energy #profits 😳
In fact, £500 from every household's bill goes as energy profits every year 📈

🥳 Good news (if you are an energy CEO) National Grid profits rose15% to £1.65 billion for the half year to Sep 30.
😥 Not so good news if you are a consumer. Energy companies made £30 bn profits last year. That is £500 on every household bill going to dividends, shares buybacks & bonuses for CEOs 💰

2/ @unitetheunion.bsky.social's research has shown energy companies made £30 billion in profits last year. That means around £500 per household, and a quarter of business bills. There is no issue more critical for our broken economy than sky-high energy costs. ⤵️

👀 #NationalGrid annual profits ➡️ £2.29 billion

1/ This is yet another example of outrageous #profiteering by #energy companies. The National Grid should be publicly owned to reduce energy costs for the public and businesses alike. More ⤵️
