After many years, The Ethereum Foundation Tip Jar has been successfully revived💰

13.7ETH was sent to BuidlGuidl to support builders in our ecosystem🏰

Proposal 32 has been put forth, to donate 13.7 ETH (over $45k) to Build Guidl. It will be ready to be executed Friday, November 14, when it will be open to be executed by anyone.

@avsa.eth.xyz We've heard rumors that you've made your choice on which of the 2 initiatives the funds will be transferred to🏰

Members of the EF liked our vision and gave us 2 potential destinations where the funds of the Tipjar can be put to great use🌈

We've spent the last days talking to Josh Stark and Tomasz Stanczak from the Ethereum Foundation about our vision and they directed us on 2 options where we can send the funds🦄

Option 1: Donate to Protocol Guild (theprotocolguild.eth)
Option 2: Donate to BuidlGuidl (dao.buidlguidl.eth)

No pressure at all, We just would love the story to be complete! As a community, we'd love to keep building and spreading the story. Maybe we can aim for a 50K donations milestone, and when the time feels right, you can revive the EF TipJar?

The vision in 2016 was to support development and allocate resources to advance the ecosystem🔥

In 2025, EF grants help support the same exact vison and support builders of ETH

Fun Fact: The first ever official ERC20 token had an 🦄 emoji as a symbol!

There have been a total of 31 voting proposals in the TipJar DAO🦄

#31 was in 2023, and moved the remaining funds to the EF grant provider🌈

#32 by @avsa.eth.xyz would complete the revival of the legendary tipjar and hopefully provide support to the builders of the Ethereum ecosystem🔨

In the early days of Ethereum, Unicorns were seen as an unofficial mascot, commonly seen on merch as modelled by @avsa.eth.xyz and @vitalik.ca 🔥

Today, the Unicorn lives on through our community and movement of Ethereum lovers🌈

What was once seen as a historical wallet, is now revived through our strength and hopefully will soon be put to use💰

Money that serves as a reminder of the ETH communities' strength and will help support the builders of the eco-system🔨

The Ethereum Foundation Tip Jar was posted up on the wall of the OG Ethereum Dev office in Berlin🇩🇪

The same exact address is now revived via the $20,000 in donations🦄

Waiting on the DAO voters like @avsa.eth.xyz to kindly help make this full circle moment a reality (all efforts appreciated🙏)

Would it not be possible, similar to earlier proposals, to create a 24h proposal and vote on it yourself with a weight of 10 (min 5 to pass) , allowing the payout to be made without needing signatures from Vitalik or Jeffrey?

Ever wondered the significance of the Unicorn🤔

Within the early days of Ethereum, the unicorn was seen as a key mascot that Vitalik would wear everywhere🦄

Inspired by one of Vitalik's shirts we decided to implement that exact character as the face of the Unicorn Community🤝
