How should I possibly know what we should do?
mary magdalene is probably my favourite song of all time. It's the kind of thing people ask you, isn't it? There are all these songs by Arab Strap, Leonard Cohen, or Beyoncé, that I adore - but this is the one I would take to a desert island. It's the one I chose to trip to last time.

I haven't read it either, but that sounds like a fair clue type.

Yes, you would be most welcome.

That's very generous of you!

Mine landed today. Thank you. I look forward to the brain twisters. 😊

It reminds me a little, stylistically, of Modern Toss, which I'm a big fan of, though it's very much a different vibe content wise!

I got my copy today, I just remarked on how well it was designed: which consequently makes it remarkable. Excellent work.

I had to do a couple of reveals, I'm a second division solver, but that was a very impressive use of theme! I had to check 225 to twig some of them, but well over twenty! Nicely done, sir.

This is astonishing. It makes me wonder how often we must all appear in newspapers we do not subscribe to!

I have got a mere fourteen solutions so far. I'm intrigued to the theme, I can sense sonethung going on, but what...?!

I haven't watched this yet, but you certainly have a way with words, Mr Andreou 😂

I love seeing Dua Lipa, or, like recently, Eels referenced in the crossword. It makes me feel more included. I had a far from classical education and feel a bit behind with the more usually referenced composers and old Greek dudes. Though, as I mentioned elsewhere, it's good to learn these things.

A five word novellette created from a fragment of a slogan. It may be a tad ephemeral, or inpenetrable at a passing glance, but why do anything?

I think it helps to subvert from the knowingly known. What *should* learning constitute?

Even within the learned parameters of cruciverbalese, it is such a joy to come across a new or inventive indicator, or gridfill, or twist.

To be bored on a bus, staring at a word on an advert above the window, and try to make a clue of it - as well crafted as any joke.

Even, occasionally, yet shallowly, if it's about something dreadful like cricket. I will garner enough to remember, perhaps, that 'deliveries' may be 'over' at this juncture.

The reward is not only through the completion.

I love the learning aspect of failing at a cryptic! If a bit of general knowledge eludes me, then I will hop around in warrens of learning.

A superb piece. Thanks for lobbing it in this direction. 🙏

Excellent news. I have rolled up, and impatiently await delivery.
September 29, 2025 at 10:12 AM
Thank you for the reminder. Now ordered.

Presumably, questions are going to be asked in parliament about this? Then perhaps it may get some press coverage...
