Bike nerd. Drag connoisseur. Small business owner. Coastie, back when the mission was to save lives. Seeker of knowledge.

This will be my “kinder, gentler” venture into social media, encouraging us all to do better and do more for each other.
If my math is right, their pay would equal $78,000 for each of the people let go.

I own a small bicycle shop. The business is successful, but I’ve never made less money as an adult. I’d love to be able to offer some sort of insurance, or even just a way for employees to have access to affordable insurance.

100% accurate. I own a bike shop, so I’ve dealt with plenty of people wanting to switch over to tubeless. It’s rarely the answer to flat tires that people think it is. And it for sure requires more attention to your equipment, which is already an issue for 90% of bike owners.

Totally agree. I live in Juneau, so I totally get it. Lots of fun riding in Seattle.

That “mass” isn’t exactly massin. I did the @sebikes.bsky.social Rideout down there in 2019, I think. Rollin 300+ deep. Semi-controlled chaos with @marshawnlynch.bsky.social and crew.

First and foremost, look to your local bicycle shops to see what they’re carrying. Not big box stores. You’ll need to service the bike and most direct to consumer brands offer no support at all. I own a bike shop in Alaska, and my experience with non-traditional ebike brands hasn’t been good.

Have you considered screen printing onto wherever you’re posting these?

This really stinks. I grew up between East Sac and Rancho Cordova and loved the cycling infrastructure along the American River. We could ride all the way out to Nimbus Dam along the levees. #bikesacramento

Check out the Kali City helmet from @kaliprotectives.bsky.social It’s an open face helmet with an integrated visor and an eye shield that clears most glasses.

City
This isn't your average bike helmet. The City is a purpose-built urban helmet ready to take on any urban commute.

What is your weather like during the winter months? In Juneau, Alaska, we end up with heavy wet snow that often freezes and is unridable.
