Bike nerd. Drag connoisseur. Small business owner. Coastie, back when the mission was to save lives. Seeker of knowledge.

This will be my “kinder, gentler” venture into social media, encouraging us all to do better and do more for each other.
Had a nice visit with the folks at Specialized Miami Coconut Grove yesterday. The crew there was great with the people visiting the store and were kind enough to indulge me for a quick chat about our experiences with Specialized and the industry in general. 10/10 recommend.

I’m looking for information about any cycling clubs, groups, events that happen in Lewis County. Seems to me that the home of Klein Bicycles, sole of the most beautiful mountain bikes ever made, would have some sort of cycling presence.

Bikes are fun. They don’t need to be, nor should the be this complicated for the vast majority of us who ride bikes. There’s some cool things happening in technology, but I feel like the industry is going in the wrong direction, making things more difficult for small independent shops

Someone could get used to this. Starting the day off with fresh fruit, poolside in the Florida Keys ain’t so bad.

Sunsets and night sky in Florida always blows me away, especially after living in Alaska for nearly 40 years. Never thought an empty horizon would look so cool! #keylargo #floridakeys #sunset

That winter we leased another 500 sqft and a small storage room, which maxed out the capacity of the building. We started with bikes from Fuji and used bikes to provide an affordable alternative to the other shop in town. We went from a 1 man opp, to having 3 or 4 heavy part-timers on the team

In the beginning we had about 500sqft and an idea. I really just wanted to start a business that would allow me to work for myself and contribute a little to the bills at home. I didn’t realize how little “a little” would be. Within a couple months we leased another 500sqft next door

I always make sure to stop in and chat with Steve at All Keys Cycles when I’m down here. His store is a lot like what mine was in the beginning. We just want to keep people on their bikes. He’s usually has some gems as well. Might want to take this Trek Y bike home with me. #localbikeshop #keylargo

I’ve been fortunate to be welcomed into a group of great friends in Juneau, who have opened my eyes to a whole new world! Pics from #missgayamerica 2024 in Little Rock. It really was a week in drag heaven!

I took some time to visit World of Cycling in Homestead, a really unique shop. In addition to a great selection of bikes, they have a beer and wine bar as well a an extensive selection of beers and wine in coolers. The staff were great and the store was very clean.

Chillin in Key Largo and avoiding the typically dreary weather back home in Juneau, AK.
