I was mad about planes as a child, wanted to be a pilot but was continually told “girls can’t do that”. Diagnosed as autistic aged 48!
I work in aviation. Most people would probably be surprised by how many neurodivergent people work in the industry. In the nicest way possible, you're basically being kept alive by a load of people with autism, whose childhood obsession with planes has become their career.

Because of reasons, I have been spending a lot of time travelling the country while wearing a hi-vis vest recently. I regularly get mistaken for various things, including bus driver, train driver, McDonalds toilet cleaner, etc. yesterday it was train conductor.
