Hey all, I promised an introductory piece and haven't delivered yet.
At this point, I'm not even sure what I can call myself anymore. I translated A LOT of interviews with KyoAni staff members from 2013-2020 and that's helped spread word about the wonderful staff there from a place I love.

we have PrEP because of these monkey studies. animal welfare in medical research is extremely strictly limited and regulated to ensure ethical use. there is no replacement for these animal models in biomedical research.

This is seriously going to affect public safety as primate animal models are close enough to humans to help test efficacy and safely of treatments without endangering human lives.
While it's "only" CDC, this doesn't bode well for medical research worldwide.

I'm immensely glad that home video sales in JP are not the only metric of profitability for titles anymore.
Suffice to say, CITY did not meet what I hoped it would sell on home video for KyoAni.
Thankfully I know other sources of revenue likely made up for it and it's not going to bankrupt them.
